GLaDOS's sudden reactivation is all TRIDENT's fault, and she's very happy to have a resource that doesn't care that her research basically amounts to seeing how many ways a human can walk into a pit of acid. In true Evil Science Partnership form, she only gives them most of her results (even though it's pretty much all "can bullets kill people? yes, but let's try again just to make sure").

She's also set up with a secondary server base somewhere around LA, to make things easier on her internet connection.
