Vanessa Goldpaw used to be a regular science genius human until a lab accident 10 years ago turned her into a sexy leopard. That's the official story, anyway – actually the accident gave her shapeshifting powers and the young scientist, a secret furry, hit on the idea of using her new abilities to take the physical form of her fursona and then tell everybody that she was stuck that way because of science. She has kept this charade up ever since. Nobody suspects a thing. With the newfound confidence that came with having become a sexy leopard, along with the compensation money the R&D company she was working for at the time paid her for having been turned into a sexy leopard, she started her own science business, which over the last 10 years has become tremendously successful. Today Goldpaw Technologies is at the forefront of scientific and technological innovation thanks to Vanessa's own science genius and the fact that being headed up by a leopard person makes for a really convenient marketing gimmick. Vanessa divides her time between important science research, running her company, and lounging around. She is very friendly in person, and although she isn't exactly a philanthropist and doesn't go out of her way to ally herself with superhero business or CONDOR, she generally falls more on the 'good' side of comic book science – if only because she goes out of her way to avoid things that look too much like evil science on the grounds that it's bad publicity, not to mention tacky.
