AMANDA CAROLI
An Alternian troll who defected from the Empire in the 1996 invasion and has been living on Earth since then. She really likes whatever the thinly veiled analogue for Pokemon is in this universe and hates humanity a little more than she lets on, but will still probably fight for them if necessary.

YOU MAY HAVE HEARD OF THIS CHARACTER IF:
• You saw the Japanese news coverage of her "sudden appearance" at an Akihabara video game store in 2002, where her status as a political refugee since 1997 was revealed
• You saw the news coverage of her arrival at LAX in 2005, which accused her of being an Alternian spy and mentioned her year-long detainment sentence
• You cared at all about professional Not-Pokemon tournaments in 2009, when she was kicked out of the local primaries in LA; in 2010, when she made it to nationals but was kicked out for similar BS bureaucratic reasons; or (most likely) in 2011, when she won the world championship
• You follow her on Twitter or read her Reddit AMA, both of which came into existence shortly after her victory at Worlds

YOU MAY KNOW THIS CHARACTER IF:
• You patronized a certain video game store in Akihabara, Tokyo between 2002 and 2005
• You lived in Little Tokyo, LA at any point after 2006
• You competed against her in either of the two years she was allowed to compete in at least one stage of the Not-Pokemon World Championships

PLANS & IDEAS FOR THIS CHARACTER: I've written a good deal of microaggressions and discrimination into Amanda's backstory (or rather, the mods have done it into the universe's backstory), so I'm totally down with negative CR if your character's got a reason to hate trolls and/or girls. I'm honestly 50/50 on whether I want Amanda to fall on the hero or villain side of things, so if anyone's willing to drop some shades of grey on her (metaphorically or otherwise), that would be super cool for her development, I think.

THINGS YOU'D PREFER TO AVOID: FIRE AWAY

ANYTHING ELSE: Amanda's primary Earth language is Japanese, so if your character met her in America between 2006 and mid-2007, they'll probably remember her as "that weird Japanese-speaking troll" instead of anybody who could reliably hold a conversation in English.

Karkat is almost definitely aware of her in like an internet capacity and he may have like tweeted at her once or twice or something but he actively avoids drawing any meatspace attention from other trolls even though he likes noticing them doing stuff

AMANDA UNDERSTANDS THIS MENTALITY and is probably passingly aware of Karkat but doesn't exactly go out of her way to remember things about him because even if he IS a troll what about his blood color. What if he's higher than her. What if he can get her sent back to Alternia (or save the gas and just kill her right here).

Hello fellow troll! Feferi's basically avoiding 99.999% of Alternians right now, but one day they might actually interact, so.

It'll probably happen one way or another. Maybe with Amanda freaking out about a highblood being here. Definitely with Amanda freaking out about a highblood being here.

Ammy probably knows all about the whole mess in Akihabara. Also she is v. familiar with Little Tokyo, LA, because she may be in disguise but she kinda swings by every so often anyway. Waka has been a terrible influence on her.

What this means for Amanda is that she may have been sniffed by a lusus-y dog-thing, and has almost definitely has seen it around every so often.

Danny might know about her through Sam, as Amanda's the kind of person Sam would think was awesome.

He totally heard about how an alternian girl won the not-pokémon tournament because not-pokémon is awesome (that weird moment when your character would totally nerd over his own not-canon w e l p)
He might also have participated in the AMA because you don't get to ask a SPACE ALIEN what her favourite legendary monster is every day. He probably ended up rambling about his favourite instead though. Whoops.
