Okay, Junpei and Chidori in canon... The tl;dr version is 'very similarly except aliens weren't involved and he had a couple of powers already'. He was a good guy, she was a bad guy with odd healing powers. He befriended her, fell for her, and swayed her from the bad guys' way of thinking until they forcibly dragged her back: when they eventually shot him, she realised how much he meant to her and gave up her life to heal him, merging her power with his own. I can give a full on wall of text on the story if you'd like, explain how Persona powers work in canon or how the different groups here work out? But that's the quickest summary I can give.
