TEST DRIVE MEME #1

No gimmicky dinosaur setup this time round, since the game is actually rolling now! If you've got a character you want to try out in this setting, make a thread with them on here, and if you don't, see if you can tag other people with your characters.

Test drive threads can be anything you like, in-person or online, just make it clear which one your thread is when you start it. Make sure to put the name of the character and what canon they're from in the subject, so people know who they are and where they come from.

Can I use test drive threads as samples for my app?
Indeed you may, fair stranger

Can I decide a test drive thread is game canon?
Heck yeah you can, provided the person you threaded it with is cool with that too!

As it so happens, Ravirn just so happens to be coming back from that lunch place- with leftover bag in hand. Also as it happens, his route is taking him towards an area where...there are lots of noises. And running people.

Huh.

Ravirn promptly threads his way closer, eyes wide behind his sunglasses as he catches sight of what is definitely some high-level magic. He's still not used to sorcerers acting out in the open here, and that is some serious power the - woman? - is wielding. All that damage, chaos, and seriously. Wow.

So, of course, his first impulse is to wait until she starts casting again- and then to start whistling, throwing his own magic behind it as he tries to tweak the spell. More for the sake of seeing if he can, as opposed to any real attempt to temper the damage, but, hey.

If anyone asks that's clearly what he was trying to do.

Lina notices the whistling on the edge of hearing, under all the ruckus, but what she definitely pays attention to is the unfamiliar tug on her spell -- she can feel that, someone messing with her magic, and it alarms the hell out of her. She's so caught off guard that her fireball goes askew -- whatever influence someone else is trying to exert on it isn't helping, either, and the fireball lands dangerously close to an innocent bystander trying to get out of the way of the action. Whoops.

She whirls around in midair, eyes narrowed. One of the robbers? Nah, they're just a bunch of D-list losers. None of them have that kind of power. No, this has to be someone else...and hey, look who's not running away from the fray. Lina's not stupid, and she's zeroing in on you, kid.

"Hey! What the hell are you doing? Cut it out!"

That fireball getting too close to that guy? That has an even quicker whistling set, Ravirn realizing his mistake far too close for comfort- he's only ever been so good at working with that, though, and can only manage a diverting gust to take most of the heat.

This does, of course, make it all but impossible to point at someone else when she stares right at him.

And despite Raven's urge for fun- Ravirn bristles at that, because that? Was not all his fault, and being blamed is never fun. So there's a bit of bite in his not-quite-teasing response;

"I take it we're not caring about damage control, huh?"

"Well, I can't if you're messing with my spells!" Lina snaps, hovering close above Ravirn. She looks pretty annoyed, buddy, and her palm is glimmering with the beginnings of a fresh spell. "How did you do that, anyway? Spill the beans, kid, or you're toast!"

Okay, woah, too close. Ravirn takes an involuntary step back, his grin more like a worried baring of teeth than anything else. He can just hear Melchior suggesting he maybe shut up, try to calm the nice lady down, maybe apologize-

"How about I demonstrate?"

-instead he whistles a quick series of notes again, suggesting Lina's spell of levitation should, ah, adjust its height value. By a lot.
