since Miriel is part of the Enclave and a rather powerful wizard, they'd definitely know each other (whether he knows her as only Gnosis or also as Miriel is up to you; I imagine she trusts him more than most others because he's Sorcerer Supreme and he seems to be a fairly cool guy who wouldn't tell anyone who she was, but, again, up to you).

she takes a very scientific and intense approach to magic (as with everything), so she probably disapproves of what she perceives as a relaxed attitude toward magic, what with the magic shows and stuff. she thinks he's alright aside from that, though perhaps lacking the wizardly seriousness she thinks a Sorcerer Supreme should have.

Jack is actually sort of self conscious about not being serious or old enough to be the Sorcerer Supreme, so while he doesn't super wear that on his sleeve, her judgement there does sort of hit home which he is probably a little awkward about.

He'd probably know her as both things, since I figure that Enclave people are more open with each other than they are with other people about some things, given the whole secret magi society thing. He probably secretly finds her a bit intimidating because she's sort of like Nivata but without the obnoxiousness.
